Robotics
Who we are: The Discovery Middle School Robotics Team
What we do: The DMS Robotics Team’s focus is to cultivate an environment in which students will learn
about and design, build and compete using robotics. Students will brainstorm solutions to problems,
document their engineering design process, design and build robots, and compete at the yearly TSA
competition in April. Joining the DMS Technology Student Association (TSA) is mandatory for students
on the DMS Robotics Team. Please see the DMS TSA website for more information regarding the
Technology Student Association for more information.
Students will learn to work as a team, develop problem-solving and critical thinking skills, and learn to
communicate with teams from around the state. The main focus of the team is to compete at the
highest level of competition and, most importantly, have fun.
When: An interest meeting for students will be held on September 24, 2026, in room 407 and
applications to join the DMS Robotics Team will be due on October 15, 2026.
Once the 2026-2027 team has been selected, we will meet weekly on Thursdays from 3:20 – 4:15 p.m.
Parents are expected to pick up their students promptly at 4:15 p.m. on meeting days.
