I was born and raised in Gadsden, AL. I attended St. James Catholic School through the 8th grade and graduated from Gadsden High School. I attended Sewanee: The University of the South on full academic scholarship, where I majored in American Studies (an interdisciplinary program with an emphasis on American history and literature).  After graduation, I planned to pursue a Masters and Doctorate in History in order to become a professor at the collegiate level.

After returning to Gadsden to take a year off before graduate school, I began working for the 21st Century CLC After School Program and Superkids Summer Camp. It became immediately clear to me that I wanted to pursue a degree in secondary education. I received my Master of Science in Secondary Education, Social Studies from Samford University. I have since become Highly Qualified in the area of English Language Arts as well.

Middle School is a crazy, wacky, roller-coaster of a ride - and I love every minute of it. I'm so excited to teach another year of World History at Discovery!
