As Instructional Partner, I partner with teachers using instructional leveraged practices, scaffolding learning, and collaborating with teachers for maximizing student outcomes. As an Instructional Partner we believe in an impact school. An impact school honors culture as much as academics. We hope to build capacity with a culture of learning while using the most effective instructional practices in order to raise student achievement. We work to deepen our understanding of content, using formative assessment and a variety of learning practices to guide our instruction.

Previously, I was a literacy coach for Madison City Schools from 2005-2012. Prior to being a literacy coach, I was a second grade teacher from 1993-2004 for Madison County Schools which eventually, in 1998, Madison City Schools was established becoming a separate school system.

I am the Instructional Partner for Discovery Middle School with the Madison City School district in Madison, Alabama. I earned a doctorate in Organizational Leadership with a concentration in Educational Leadership in 2005. I have worked in education for twenty three years, eleven as an elementary classroom teacher, seven as an ARI Literacy Coach, and currently as an Instructional Partner.

My combined work experience has presented several opportunities to conduct tailored professional learning experiences to meet the needs of adult learners. Some of these have included working with the Instructional Partners Network for the North Alabama region, school and system level learning experiences, and other vertical teaming with professionals that share the same passion for learning. I also enjoy reading and researching about current instructional trends in education. I have compassion for all learners and believe in creating inviting cultures where learning is safe, teacher empowerment is valued, and fostering relationships are essential.
