Bio

Hola! My name is Hope Davis and I teach Spanish I at Discovery Middle School in Madison, AL.  I started my teaching career in 2007 at Bob Jones High School and moved to Discovery in 2014 to launch the Spanish program for the 8th grade.  I would like to share a little bit about myself with you all.  First of all I would like to say "GO PATRIOTS!"  I am a former graduate of Bob Jones.  After I graduated from BJHS I attended Auburn University and majored in Spanish International Trade.  Throughout my time at Auburn I taught an ESL (English as a second language) class.  I then participated in a study abroad program and lived in Mexico for a summer.  I have also worked for the state of Alabama as an interpreter for the Department of Human Resources, and I travel to Nicaragua every year in order to teach English in the local schools.  Also, my family lives in San Jose, Costa Rica and I have the opportunity to spend time with them each summer.  Upon returning to North Alabama I attended Athens State University to receive my teacher certification.  My desire is to further the understanding and appreciation of the Hispanic culture, and as you can see, I have a passion for the Spanish language and culture and I hope that this is contagious in my classroom and that your children will love it as much as I do.
